Hello, my name is Miriam Muthoni, and I work with Tharaka Invention Academy here in Kenya. Many young people today finish school or never reach university, or are working, or are sitting at home, and they all ask the same question, what do I do with my life Now, they are intelligent, they’re capable, but they lack direction, tools, and guidance to turn their ideas into something real. Tharaka Invention Academy exists for exactly this reason. TIA is a capability first learning system built around an ebook and online resources that help young people become confident, problem solvers, inventors, and contributors to their communities.
Apprenticeship at TIA is designed to run alongside trade school, university, study full-time work, or even periods of no work at all. It does not compete with these paths. It strengthens them. Learning. A TIA is self-paced and organized around real problems, practical projects, and visible results, not classroom schedules or certificates. Apprentices learn by doing. They use modern tools, including AI, together with local knowledge, teamwork, and ethics to turn ideas into workable solutions. At TIA, you do not wait for the future to begin.
